Do I need an inline converter if my amp has a crossover?

I'm installing a sub to my stock radio (2010 Subaru legacy). My amp has an adjustable crossover (40Hz-130Hz). Does this mean that I don't need an inline converter? Can i just take the wires going to the rear speakers and plug them into my amp?

this is the amp im using- http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zSx4RVh7uUE/p_204EL1500/Bazooka-EL1500.html

The crossover doesn't matter. If you want to connect an amplifier to a factory system, without using a line output converter, then the amplifier needs to be equipped with high-level inputs (also called speaker-level inputs). The amplifier in your link does not include this feature, so you'd need the converter.

what would this inline converter do?

you need input wires from the radio to the amp. If your stock does not have pre-amp outputs use a line out converter.

this is what u need:

just TAP the rear speaker liines. leave them connected. just use a line tapper or cut the wires and connect them together.

make sure u adjust the gains on the converter (if applicable) in synch with the amp so it outputs at a decent voltage but not too high to cause distortion.
