I bought my car and it came with a non stock radio already set in. I want to be able to play my music from my ipod but the radio doesn't have that option. I don't really know anything about these kind of things and was wondering if i could buy any kind of radio with an aux, or does it have to be a certain size? I'm not looking for anything real special just one with and aux input. Cars a chevy s10 2001.

The only thing that matters is if it is a "single DIN" or a "double DIN" (one is normal size, one is "fat") If it is a double DIN you need a special kit to install the new radio.

I however suggest you just take it to a shop (NOT BEST BUY!!!!!!) and have them put the radio in for you. If the old radio was put in by a hack he most likely just cut the wire and didnt use a harness, which is a PITA to fix if you dont have a multimeter and know how to use it

Any single din(most common size) aftermarket head unit will fit in your s10. If you already have an aftermarket unit, you may be able to hook up an Ipod with the use of adapter. This will require removing the unit from the dash to plug the adapter in to the back of it.

I would recommend calling or visiting a local and reputable stereo shop. They will able to tell you if you are able to use your existing CD player or if you need a new one.

Go to Sonic Electronix. You can find a good inexpensive name brand head unit ( Kenwood, Sony, Alpine) and they usually ship everything you need for the install for free. Almost every new stereo has a USB input.

You can use a FM transmitter like:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/16480626?adid=22222222227001210172&wmlspartner=wlpa&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=&wl3=13693132270&wl4=&wl5=pla&veh=sem

You plug your device into this and tune the radio to the specified channel to listen to your device. You can use it with any radio Home/car/work.

Note there are lots of types of these. Search FM transmitters.

Black, floor, White, gray, green pink are your spekaer wires, Blue is the amplifier activate twine, in case you have not any amp, tape it up and disrespect it. And in case your deck has dimmer characteristic, (once you swap on your headlight the deck reveal will dim), yet isn't working good... pass try the different orange twine the single with or without the white stripe..
