How do u hook up an MP3 player to car cd player?

I bought a cd player for my car that says it is blootooth ready, mp3 ready, compatable with mp3 players, xm radio ready ect. It does not have a a port for usb cable, the little square port, but it does have a round jack port like what you hook head phones up to. Could that be a way to hook up an mp3 player? I mean is there another cord for that. A friend of mine has a cd player and they use their mp3 player but not with the usb cord. I'm knew to the mp3 player thing these kids use, but they are a lot better than hauling 50 cds in your car that could get ruined or stolen. thanks so much!

yes that round hole is where you plug it in. You need a cord that has that plug on both sides. The one end goes into your cd player and the other goes in the microphone jack of your MP3

NO don't get the RCA plug type [only]! I tried it, and noticed that you can't change the EQ or even the volume if it's connected... It's 0 for off, and 1-62 makes no volume difference unless you adjust it on the MP3 player. If you have an iPod, consider investing in a conversion/hook-up kit. But, if you're like me and use something different, there's a kit Scosche sells that'll convert your CD-changer output to a set of RCA cables. Although the one in the sources listed below only has the RCA cables, the one that I got from Target has an RCA to 3.5mm jack that comes with it that is similar to the one in the eBay link you provided.

some dollar stores sell that exact cable. it has to have two male ends

i don't have a cd player in my car (1993 Pontiac grand am) however i do have a cassette deck player. sounds like you may also have one.

there is a device that fits into the tape deck that looks similar to a cassette but had a wire coming off of it that has the male end that you plug into the mp 3 player. that's what i use in my car. believe it or not i also buy that device at one of my dollar+ stores for $1.29. you can buy the same device at best buys for $10.00.

it doesn't get any easier than that.
