i am purchasing this head unit for my truck. I have 2 audiobahn 12s with a hifonics 1000w amp. i had a dual HU before and it didnt push the speakers like they could will this be a good upgrade especially with the low bass notes. The dual HU put out alot of highs but not that good lows will the pioneer help?

If you check out the other units there eq's are horible. It consist of "Bass and Treble". Pioneer gives you independent control of the subs volume and MUCH MUCH more. there is so much eq it is like a digital sound board. Having the independent sub control lets you take the bass outa the speakers letting them reach optimal sound with out pushing them to hard. Sounds great at high volumes.

pioneer head units are only good if you have a set of subs, they are good for putting high notes out of the four speakers so they dont blow, and low notes through the subs, this combination makes the music sound very clear, even at higher volumes, i buy nothing but pioneer head units

I think it will. I have a similiar head unit in my ride. However mine is a DVD reciever as well. If I have no bass in my car, the rear 6x9's sound really well coming off that head unit. Highs and lows.

Get an eclipse head unit. You can find one on ebay or circuit city. They are some of the best head units you can buy. They also have higher preout voltages than most other brands.
