I currently have a Sony explode amp powering two 12" subwoofers in my trunk. This amp has the RCA inputs but also has outputs. I was going to install a second amp to run the speakers with. So I want this amp to be getting the full range of freqs. I was wondering if I ran RCAs from the big amp (subwoofer amp) to the speaker amp? Will doing thing only send low freq that the big amp filters out being set on low pass? I would rather just ran RCAs from the subs amp to the second one instead of having to run a second set of RCA's from my head unit. But if I can't get a full band of freq from the subwoofer amp and keep it on low pass filter I guess I run a full second set from the head unit to the second amp.

If your rca's from the radio are marked front or rear they will give you full range if the rca's from the back of the radio are marked subwoofer then you wont have full range! The rca output from the amp will give whatever is coming out of the radio not the amp. The rca out put from the amp is to help you add more than one amp so you don't have to run more rca's or use y jack splitters.

The head unit should have separate outputs for each channel plus one for the sub. Depending on your HU model, the sub out may already have a low-pass filter, [info should be in the owners manual].

Your speaker amp should connect directly to the HU to get full spectrum of frequencies.
