if its sealed you can put polyfill in the box and it makes the sub "think" its in a bigger box

If it is a sealed enclosure, not much would change and if would be easy to make an enclosure, but with a ported box it must be as close as possible to the recommended box volume or noise canceling might occur.

It would simply sound worse. If its really small it might sound really bad but if it is just smaller than recomeded you just dont get the subs full potential as you would if you made it to recomended size. It also depends on weather its sealed or ported. As long as you dont make the enclosure tiny it shouldnt be that big of a problem.

it wouldnt sound as good, it wouldnt resonate and reproduce the bass sounds like you want them to. If that is the situation where the box is to small, try stuffing it with fillin such as a pillow, this tricks the sub to thikn the the encloser is acually bigger than it is.

usually you have to get them custom made but its still fairly cheap. Im gonna watch this since I have a Ranger Supercab

there wont be enough airflow and it wont hit right.
