Question:
Should I get a GPS Navigator? Afraid someone may steal it?

I'm thinking about asking for a GPS navigator for my car for Christmas because I'm terrible with directions. But I've heard of people breaking into cars to steal these.

So I was wondering, how likely is this to happen? If some shady character was to walk by my car and see it, and nobody was around, would they try to take it? Has yours been stolen or do you hear of a lot of people getting their's stolen?

I always just stick it in the glove box when I'm not using it. But yes, a gps nav is awesome, I don't know how I ever lived without it!

From what I hear they get stolen a lot. A co-worker of mine got hers stolen from her car in our secure parking lot at work. Don't think just because you're in a parking lot with cameras that your stuff is safe. It takes 2 seconds to break your window and grab your GPS. Personally I use the navigation on my cell phone. That way there's no chance of my car being broken into and someone stealing my GPS because it's on my phone and always with me.

most gps's work off a battery. like mine, 105.00 with free shipping - cheaper than ebay prices and amazon prices:

this means you can take it with you when you are done in your car. it also comes with a car charger and house charger to charge the internal battery.

these are way cooler than the average gps: you can play movies, games, and music on it too. you can do all this while getting your ever day directions around town. this one is equip with the famous software by igo amigo - way better than tomtom or garmin in my opinion.

dont worry about thieves, it will always be with you. so how can they steal it.? hope you get one for Christmas :)

Get a navigator with a quick-release mount that you can take down and put in a safe place when not in use. If the bad guys can't see it, they won't steal it.

Many of the Garmins run off of battery power. You could go to their website and find on that suits you. When you get out of the car or wherever you are you can slip it in your pocket, or backpack if your going to school. It doesn't take much space either so you could also keep it on your desk.

Take it with you or put it in the trunk. Much better than having to buy a window for your vehicle. They disappear like magic. Bob.

you should get it because it is a good source of direction if you choose to get it you should hide it under the seat of your car.
