take this into consideration...

an all alpine set up won in iasca a couple of years back. never heard of pioneer doing the same feat. i could be wrong though.

going the single manufacturer set up is good but with your budget why dont you try out other manufacturers as well?

alpine for your HU

rockford fosgate, jl, audison etc for your amps

focal, rockford fosgate, dls etc for your mid-highs

rockford fosgate, jl, fi, re etc for your subs?

Lets See,

Pioneer Radio has 4 volt rca out,

Alpine is 2.2 volts

Pioneer is known to make fantastic speakers

Alpine has a blue light on the radio buttons

The amps are near even (both brands are not great)

Pioneer Wins

(try to go to a Pioneer Premier Dealer, like me, cuz everything is Factory 2 Year Warranty)

Pioneer from experience provides a much better warranty then Alpine. If you want quality chose pioneer if you want the latest fadd that wont last 1-2 years chose Alpine

well i had both of them in previous cars -head units- the pioneer head unit makes the speakers sound weird when you turn the music up, the sound is not clear you can tell there is impurities in the sound quality, only when you turn the volume up tho. i am assuming you will have the same problem with the subs if you are powering them with a pioneer amp. alpine is more high end and sound way more clearer and their speakers are legendary for high quality performance. as for the subs i don't know much about them,

if you want my opinion you are better off getting subs form a company that speciallizes in subwoofers like JL, MTX, or Kicker.

my favorite head unit is a Kenwood high end Exelon with a USB slot this way you can plug in a flash drive and play your music without needing to ever burn a CD again, also the Kenwood Exelon speakers sound great and are cheaper form the alpines if you go with the kenwood for head unit and speakers and MTx for amp and subs you should be able to get all that for less than $1200

hope this helps

Alpine make the best decks. Period. Alpine may not have the prettiest decks like pioneer does, but they are far superior if you know how to use them. They offer a lot more to toy with than Pioneer decks. I know this first hand. I used to be the same as you, I loved Alpine everything, but not their decks. Then my Pioneer deck crapped out on me, bought my Alpine cause it was on sale, never looked back.

having personally put way to much money into my cars audio system, i would say that speakers and head units pioneer is what you will be most pleased with, however for subs, that is when alpine has the advantage.

Id go wit choice 2 but with a pioneer headunit instead. Pioneer in my opinion gives better controls and more tweaking abilities

Alpine for sure.

You can always add on and custom it to your liking. You will get a better sound quality.

alpine you will get more power to the subs if you do that cuz then you have less ohms. and you save almost a 500 dollars
