And i know my amp puts out plenty of power because i tried wring it to just one sub and it did the same thing and my wires are 4 guage everything is new and my lights dont dim at all my amp is a 650 rms alpine v12 and i have 2 kicker cvr 400 rms each both 12 inches please help?

i have the 1000 w mono block bigger brother of that amp.. its designed if the subs start to clip that it will power down so you dont weld your magnet! which believe me is a good thing.. dont worry about it.. just turn it off let it reset it self and dont turn the bass up so high..

ps that amp is to small for you subs.. get a bigger amp. your subs and amp will thank you

It sounds like the amp is going into Protect mode. It actually sounds like your speakers are not running at the right ohms for the amp, and when you turn up the volume, it is ohm load of the speakers is less than the amp is designed for. If your running two speaker, and those are both dual 4ohm DVC than run them in a parallel/series config. to get the load at 4ohms. if your running both in parellal, then the load would be 1ohm, or both in series, would be 8ohms which is lower or higher than that amp can handle. That amp is set up for 4 or 2 ohm operation. (you cant run 2 DVC 4ohm speakers in a 2ohm config), and would result in the CUR error. Also install a cap, incase your getting voltage surges from the alternator above 14.4 volts.

properly you're using the amp too annoying with low sounds. Does it clip (it is the term for modern-day overload) once you have the quantity down low? if so then your amp may well be defective. yet while making low sounds using vast subs, it takes a tremendously great quantity of wattage. 650 rms is a good quantity yet once you turn it up loud, that's going to clip at last, and decrease sounds take greater watts to stress.

i used to have that same amp and it did the same thing, try backing off the gains a bit, that should stop the madness
