The wire is used to turn on power/motorized antennas or car amplifiers. if you dont have one dont use it... Its the same wire. Most units have the same "remote" or antenna wire. Most of the time this wire is blue and can be used for both amp remotes and antennas, sometimes simultaneously.

Most newer cars need this wire hooked up for the power antenna usually it will connect with a blue wire with white stripe... if you dont hook it up and your radio gets lousy reception then this is the reason because it needs a small powersource to activate and run. When you are running a amp you take away some of the power so youll notice your reception isnt AS good but its manageable ( not much noticeable on regular FM but on HD stations you will notice like I do)

Trey is close. The wire is used to turn on power/motorized antennas. If you don't have one, tape it up and forget it.
