How Should I connect my dual voice coil Subwoofers?

I have two 15" Image Dynamic Subwoofers and a Alpine MRV-F340 multi-channel (55 watts RMS x 4) amplifier.
Details:

* 55 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms
* 65 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms
* 130 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode
* 2-, 3-, or 4-channel output
* Tri-way capable (Tri-Way crossover required)
* requires 10-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
* Bass Engine® features:
o variable 30-400 Hz high-pass/low-pass crossovers, 12 dB/octave
o rear channels have a subsonic filter at 15 Hz

Should I wire the subs in series or parallel? How should I then wire it to the amplifier bridged or on different channels?...

Wire them in parallel, you'll get more power. BUT you may want to invest in a better amp. That sounds like a sony 4 channel amp - (I've owned 2 of the exact same amp) and they dont put out much power (NOT DISSING SONY AT ALL, the amp is just weak). I need to know whether your subs are 2ohm subs or 4ohm subs to help you out. If they are 2ohm subs, wires them in series, parallel, then bridge them to the amp, any you'll have a pretty good result. If they are 4ohm subs, I'd just wire them in parallel to separtate channels. Good Luck!!!

Dude, how many ohms is each sub???????????????????????????

1. Four channel amps make terrible sub amps.... Bad choice

2. The best way to do it is bridge the amp... but you are still only giving each sub 130 watts... weak.

3. The only way it would work is if you have DUAL 2 OHM voice coil subs, and wired each one in series, and hook them up bridged.

So channels 1 and 2 bridged to one sub, channels 3 and 4 bridged to the other.

Ok, dual 2 ohm versions. Wire each sub in series, and then bridge the amp. It will be like hooking up a regular 2 channel amp. Follow the markings on the amp for bridged operation, or read the owners manual (or download it).

PS, still, 130 watts a sub isnt too much!

run them in parallel bridged to the amp.
