Hi I have a 2001 ford taurus station wagon and i tried to install my subs and stereo but cant figure it out. i originally tried to cut the wires from original factory harness and hook them up to the harness for my pioneer deh3300ub stereo but the wire diagrams i had found didn't mach up on the factory harness side. I tried to find an Adaptor but could not find one that fit. there is a rear stock amp and i have seen the dash install kit for the taurus that has a Adaptor that leads form there to a aftermarket stereo but haven't gotten it yet. my question is if anyone knows were to find an adaptor, wire diagram or any additional info

You really need the kit. The instructions that come with the kit should answer all your questions. This is one vehicle that you should research before you go in and start cutting wires.

The stock amp is also the stock tuner in this vehicle; it's the real brain of the system. You'll never get anywhere trying to figure out the harness behind the head unit, because there aren't any speaker wires there.

Buy the right parts, then do the installation. You can't do it backwards in this vehicle.

You particularly want the kit. The instructional materials that come with the package must reply your entire questions. This is one auto that you just will have to research before you go in and chopping wires. The stock amp is also the inventory tuner in this automobile; it's the actual brain of the method. You can by no means get anywhere trying to determine the harness in the back of the head unit, considering that there are not any speaker wires there. Purchase the correct ingredients, then do the installation. You can't do it backwards in this auto.
