AUX on KDC-MP235?

Question

Can anybody tell me how play MP3's through the AUX port on a Kenwood KDC MP 235 head unit? I've tried holding "Menu" to scroll down and turn on AUX but it just says "BEEP: ON" and there's no menu to scroll though. I can press SRC and it'll switch from CD to radio but even if my ipod is playing it won't recognize AUX. Any help guys? I'm about to go over 2k miles to pickup a '61 Beetle and I can't afford to burn tons of CD's.

You have to have the deck in "standby" mode before entering the settings menu. Press the source button until Standby comes up, then press and hold the menu button. Use the 4-way switch to scroll through the menu options until you get to AUX, then press the switch to the right to turn it on.

Here is a review I found on the humble Kenwood:



"I have the MP-235. Every setting is difficult. I could not edit my clock, my subwoofer settings werent active, and I could not switch to AUX.



From reading online troubleshooting forums, I see the numerous problems with this player. MY LAST KENWOOD. To fix my problem (unable to switch to aux or edit the clock), you have to hold down the menu button (bass boost) to enter the menu. then scroll around, turn AUX on, change the clock, etc etc.



You turn demo mode off the same way. See some forum troubleshoots where users are unable to get out of demo mode.



Kinda silly how they have it all set up. You have to spend hours learning tricks to get yours to work."
