i would like to fit a sub in my car, but i want to keep my standard stereo.
i know it can be done by having a rca adaptor (speaker to rca lead)
i wondered if anybody knew what would be a good adaptor to get?
if i get a cheap one will the bass on the sub be rubbish?
also will it effect the sound of my speakers?
thank you

I am used to having high quality after market head units, but my current car has a stock head unit that is virtually unreplaceable so I installed new front speakers, sub and two amps using a line output converter.

I'm using the ~$18 4 channel scosche unit from Walmart and I'm happy with the results.

It won't effect the speakers.

I think it would be better to just get a better stereo. It would enhance the sound of your speakers and subs if you tweak it right using the settings on the stereo

ultimate thank you to restoration the damn interior the boot is to purchase sound dampening product from vehicle shops. there is lot of different variety accessible. some occasion are Dynamat, E lifeless, Fatmat and Stingers Roadkill. I even have Fatmat that i offered from ebay for $a hundred and thats 100sq ft which would be enought to hide the excellent boots with leftover for the interior. The extra layer you word the fewer vibration you will get as this product upload weight to the panel to shrink the vibration.
