ok. i have xxx brand subs (2) and amp. i dont know too much about audio, so this is just a shot in the dark. the amp and subs are 1200 watt. amp is 1200, i assume the subs are 600 watt a piece. basically. they just got installed. if you need specifics to answer my question, please tell me, i'll post what more i can, and check back please. but. the amp settings, well, everything is at minimum right now. it was just installed. basically, i want to know how to set up the amp so that the system sounds good.

also got new car speakers. they're boss, and if you need the specs i'll give em, but they're just pretty much eh. lol. so yeah. if anyone could basically tell me how to set up my amp, that'd be great. i want it to hit, but i dont want a bunch of distortion crap. and the speakers in the car aren't special or nothing, so. lol. there's that.

sorry for being car audio retarded. course. if i knew what i was doing, i wouldn't be asking... lol. help me if you can, if not, well it happens.

here is how to set your levels within the car by ear. start by turning down the gain and bass boosts on the amp and disconnect the remote wire to shut off the amp all together. now, turn the bass setting on the radio, DOWN all the way. Put in CD with a bass heavy new song. turn the volume up as high as it will go until you hear your mids and highs start to distort. listen carefully and dont over do it. then lets say it happens at 30 volume #, back off to 29 or 28. this will be your max volume for the system (although some older songs you may be able to go higher due to recording levels). now, you can adjust the bass boost on the radio slowly... IF.... the mids and highs can handle it without distorting. now reconnect the remote lead to your sub amp. With the gains all the way down, start coming up on the gain to a moderate listening level (by ear not worrying about the actual gain position) . Then adjust any bass boost to suit you- without going more than 75% up on the boost and listening for the roughness sound of distortion. If you get the bass boost set how you like and dont hear distortion yet, then slowly raise the gain till you hear distortion and back it off a little if you do. If at any time (while you set it or in the weeks after) you smell voice coils heating up then back off on the bass boost or gain. does this help? make sure nobody messes with your radio bass settings from then on.lol

Well to begin with the easiest repair would be the mute button at the deck. I recognize you in most cases attempted that nevertheless it messed with me a couple of instances. Otherwise it fairly cannot be the sub and amp due to the fact that are supposed to be only a effortlessly RCA cable and that would not have an effect on the deck. A well factor to do is to unhook your battery and allow the vehicle sit down for a couple of minute so the whole lot within the pc procedure resets itself and it could rationale anything to go back and forth again into operating order and so they could paintings. Otherwise i cannot consider of some thing else that could be going flawed except a few wires obtained crossed. desire this is helping. No one will make amusing due to the fact your a woman, women do vehicle audio installs at all times!

Put on some music, slowly start increasing your gain and bass controll on the amp till you like what you hear, and maybe tweak the EQ on your head unit. I have two 15" Boss XXX Subs, I'm pushing them with 1000 watts a piece and you can hear me from about 10 blocks away. If you get distortion BEFORE it gets even remotely loud, theres a problem.
