ive always used speaker wire, i get the thicker wires from monster never had any problem with it. i dont know the guage size i never worried about that as long as it worked and sounded good

once you've 2 DVC 4 ohm subs, and favor to maintain a 4 ohm entire: First you want to connect each subs voice coils in sequence; run a lead from one terminals unfavourable to the different terminal's efficient. this will provide you 2 8 ohm subs. then you actually will be meaning to connect both subs in parallel, bringing you lower back all the way down to a 4 ohm mono load.
