You can install an amplifier to work with the stock head unit, and use the amp to power a subwoofer. You cannot safely connect a subwoofer directly to the factory speaker outputs without using an amplifier.

Yeah you could but their not gonna sound that good because your head unit does not put out enough watts to push the speaker(s) plus your head unit and the rear speaker outputs I figure thats what your going to use is not Low Pass'ed so highs are going to be running into your sub- not a good thing. Also are you going to run both the left and right channels into one sub so your going to have mono output- Yeah yeah don't tell me dual voice coils, nope still not going to be a good thing. Buy an amp

It'll sound fine. All you'll need to purchase is a line output converter to tap into the rear speakers in order to run RCAs.

that is a very bad idea, first of all it would sound heaps crap, as it will be severely underpowered, but this can also lead to your sub breaking. you have to by an amp to power a sub if you want to run it properly and safely

you will need a drop kit, if you want best quality and sound and less of a hastle i would recommend just getting a new deck, lots easier and better
