Hello,
I recently purchased a 94 Deville Concours. The radio in it, a Delco-Bose Active Audio, model #16163906 was not hooked up. The original harnesses have been cut. I have only the individual wires. I found some radio wiring diagrams for most cadillacs but the colors do not match this system. I believe this is the correct unit for the car because it is a remote unit, and there is a reciever in the trunk. There is also an amp in the trunk.

So far, I've only been able to figure out that there are 3 hot wires coming from the car, 1 red/white, 1 orange, 1 yellow, and 1 black ground. I have no idea where to connect these to the head unit. Also there is a dark green wire on the head unit, that lights up the unit whenever I connect any of the hot wires to it, but it doesn't respond to any on/off, tape/cd functions simply with this connection. I did hook up a spare aftermarket radio and got it to turn on, but no sound came out trying to connect the speaker wires to the remaining wires coming from the car. I guess that was beacuse I didn't activate the amp. I really want to use the factory head unit that came with the car.

A wiring or pinout diagram for this head unit, and for the wires coming from the car would be handy. Can anyone help please. The car is nice but some sounds while driving would be great. Can anyone provide some guidance or diagrams?

when you're dealing with factory systems modded it gets hairy. I'll suggest u immediately join an online forum for cadillac owners and do some asking and searching in the audio forums.

here are a few:

www.cadillacforums.com/

www.cadillaccountryclub.com

i was able to do some searching online and find pdf manuals with color codes for my honda. random websites though. BUT the honda car forums I haave joined have been a tremendous help with illustrations and such. good luck

you need to remove it all ans start over

the amplifier only works with the factory bose gold unit

also the speakers are 1.5 ohms and will burn the new head unit

all the connections are done in the trunk you need to run 8 cables to the front for speakers

and the antenna plug to the front

power and ignition can be found at front under the dash

good luck

A locksmith can be expensive, but he can open your trunk. Or you can buy a "slim jim" at an autoparts store and open one of the doors. You slip it between the glass and rubber trim of the door about even with the manual door lock button. Work it inside the door pushing or pulling when you feel something. No guarantees. If you get a door open you should be able to get the back seat out, maybe just the back of it. The seats are bolted and cliped down around the edges. Then you can squeeze your way into the trunk and get your keys. Tgeorge is right. You may be able to open the trunk from inside the car.
