power acoustik amplifiers do about half of the power they are rated to. i saw a bamf 5500d that is rated at 3200 watts rms bench tested a couple of years ago.it really made 1700 rms at the edge of clipping. it would do around 1400 rms cleanly.

They aren't bad.

Power Acoustik isn't known for high quality, but they've always been a semi-respectable budget brand.

Like Drag said - they won't give you what's advertised, but they do pretty well considering the price.

The 5500 series subs amps would power a pair of Pio w3000's, especially if they're the dual 4's.

If you're looking for a bargain you might check out the Audiopipe ap1800d. 1600-1800w rms at 1 ohm and $192 shipped from wminnovations.com

no, they suck, they arent really 3500watts, alot of distortion, they will mess up your subs, but the amp will probably blow before you get to that point. If you want a good amp for cheap, get a hifonics brutus. cheapest cea compliant(only amps that put out the wattage they say have that stamp of approval) amp you can get. Make sure its the newer silver ones. The older ones arent cea compliant but they are better than any power acoustik and are cheaper, had some liked em. I have the newer 1700d hifonics brutus with my kicker 15in cvx's, love it.
