How do I know if my 2003 Honda Accord EX-V6 can have an AUX installed?

Hi there, I recently bought myself a 2003 Honda Accord EX-V6 which has a 6 cd changer. It's fine and all but it keeps jamming and messing up. I was watching some videos on how to install an auxiliary/ iPod adapter into my car and I want to go ahead and try to install one myself seeing as how I can't afford to have a $450 replacement done by honda.

This is my stereo: http://www.tastyautos.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/car-photo-2003-honda-accord-ex-v6-coupe-stereo-head-unit-climate-control.jpg

And this is the adapter I want to buy: http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-289-88-hon03-aux-honda-2003-2011-auxiliary-audio-input-adapter.aspx

I have looked at the manual and it makes no mention of it. Can somebody help me and let me know if it can be done? Thanks

There is a single free plug on the back of your Honda radio, this is to be used with the external cd changer or aux interface. but at the same time this is the steering wheel connector so the way it works is you unplug that connector and connect that cable to the hon03-aux interface and the male connector from the interface plugs into the Honda radio, this is a T harness or also called Y harness the other end plugs into the interface, if there are no steering wheel connector you only connect to the back of the radio and the other wire stay free

so yes that is the correct Honda aux interface,

you can also use this jack cable

good luck

yea i have same car

it has a seperate harness on wire harness for the aux and it is just an adapter .... all you need to do is plug it in the adaper and make a hole for aux cord ...

its really wasy to do ... set your ebrake on.... put your shifter all the way back ... the little cubby under the stereo comes out with a downward push .... there will be 3 skrews to remove stereo .... and thats basicaly it .... took me about 25 mins to remove first time and takes me about 5-10 to do now .... its real easy on the 03 honda

btw ... the dash kit alone to have new stereo is about 150 because original stereo also has ac controls under ...

goodluck if you do it on your own

there is a videonon youtube on how to do it

First get instructions for resetting the anti theft code for your radio. The Honda dealer can tell you how if it isn't in your owner's manual. Next remove the radio. Next plug in the adapter and route RCA to Stereo patch cord neatly in the car so you can plug and unplug your portable source as needed. Put it all back together. Chilton's Auto Repair manual shows how to remove and replace the radio. the public library has Chiltons manuals.
