First, what's a Ford 6000 head unit? But in general, with Ford vehicles that have changer control HU's, but no factory installed changer, you will need a certain brand of cd changer and the proper adapter cables to run between the hu and the aftermarket changer. Audiovox was one of the brands that made the changer and cables. Don't know if they have one for that particular Ford. Or you can use an FM Modulated changer which will work on any vehicle that has an FM radio in it. Works through a radio frequency that has no assigned station in your area to get the sound.

If the head unit has a button on it to switch a cd changer then it has a connector on the back for one. Soundlinx do an interface to connect either a Sony, Alpine or Kenwood changer to this and they work well

if you can get hold of the necessary cables from head unit to changer I'm sure it can be done.
