I made a box for 3 12's. i bought 2 boxes, sealed with little volume, cut for 3 12's. ( each chamber separated by dividers ). i cut the back out of one of them, and attached the other box behind it. making one box out of 2, with twice the volume of each chamber. then i got some thick cardboard tubing and ported it. however the tubes aren't very long or big in diameter. so the subs are tuned high. they come out of the top so they aren't but 12 inches long. i want to do a slot port using the entire width of each chamber (about 13 inches) and the entire height (about 13 inches) then even some of the depth (going back towards the sub) if u can picture that. so i would be using the back and bottom walls of the box, and building an L shaped piece of mdf.

Best sound quality period would be to stop with that box...sorry to say that but its true...Find out how many cubic foot each sub needs per chamber (should be able to find easy)....decide what you want for tone lower tones are ranged from 20hz to mid 30's....more musical stuff is mid 30's and even as high as 50hz...its all about preference...you cant just make a port and expect it to sound good (learned from my mistakes) you need to understand and read up on it...If you do the reading alone i garuntee you will come out with the best results possible....now if everything above is out of the question then i would say yes you "can" but i wouldnt reccomend it. The terminal isnt going to effect it enough even if at all but for looks purposes i wouldnt reccomend it...your choice on how you do it either way good luck

I'd move the speaker terminal to a different wall, if you can. Otherwise you'll have air rushing past the terminal and wires in the port, which is likely to cause some noise (and loosen the terminal connections over time).

yeah you can, but your best bet is to build a new box. yours sounds ghetto and it would be easier to go to a local lumber yard and pick up a sheet of 3/4'' mdf and make a new box out of scratch. make it about 4 cf with whatever port you want depending on how you want them tuned.
