I'm getting 2 kicker cvr's that are 4 ohm DVC. I want to run these at 1 ohm but is it true that your amp has to have the ability to bridge to wire at 1 ohm? I'm getting this amp: http://onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_19346_Crunch_P10001.aspx

So basically what I'm asking is to wire 2 DVC 4ohm subs to 1 ohm, will that amp do the job, as far as bridging goes? If you need more info, let me know.

Since your subs are dual 4ohm, the subs themselves can be wired down to 1ohm no "bridging" involved. For your subs go with your original amp choice the Crunch p1000.1. When choosing an amp for subwoofers you want a class D amplifier.

1. You cannot "bridge" a 1 channel amp. Bridging means combining 2 channels into 1....

2. Either amp will work. This is because a pair of DVC 4 ohm subs can be wired to either 1 ohm, or 4 ohms. Yes you would be bridging the 2 channel amp.

3. Neither of those amps put out EVEN CLOSE to 1000 watts, crunch is a cheap flea market company with fake power numbers. Expect maybe 400 watts from those amps, and dont expect them to last forever. You get what you pay for!

So in closing, no, neither amp will be giving each sub 500 watts since those amps have fake inflated power numbers.

If you wire the subs to a 4 OHM final load then yes they will get 500 watts each sub. That amp is 1 OHM stable, so you will be able to wire the subs down to a 1 OHM final load. You will be fine.
